Some suggested messages for your "I Vote!" postcard ALL POSTCARDS NEED TO CONTAIN A FEW ESSENTIAL POINTS; 1. Who you are. I.E. I'm an adoptee, I'm a mother, I'm a concerned citizen. 2.What you want. I.E. I want open adoption legislation, I want unrestricted access to my original birth ceritficate. I want open adoption records. ( All of these, however, you write this, indicates that you see a need for and want CHANGE) 3. The fact that you vote. Write I VOTE! I'm an active voter etc. 4. Sign your postcard. Individual names indicate that multiple people are sending these messages out. While we can't dictate what you say on your postcard, we suggest a simple, clear message to your legislator. If you are an adopted person, your message might be something like the following: I am an adoptee with no access to my birth record. I supprt open records for ALL people. I Vote!
If you are a person who lost a child to adoption, your message might be something like: I lost a child to adoption. My child has no access to his/her birth record. I supprt open records for ALL people. I Vote!
If you are not a natural parent or a person who was adopted, your message might be something like: I am interested in those who have suffered because of the secrecy in adoption. I support open records for ALL people. I Vote!
